Micropigmentation

What is it?
Scalp micropigmentation (medical hairline tattoo) is a life-changing treatment where natural pigments are applied to the epidermal level of the scalp to resemble the appearance of real hair follicles (giving that stubble look) It has been named as an ‘immediate solution to hairloss’ with no down time, no scaring, a result without the need for any invasive surgery. Scalp Micropigmentation is suitable for all types and stages of hair-loss, on all ages, colours and skin types.

Why would I want one?
While there is hope for men and women suffering hairloss there’s little in the way of solutions for men and women who are completely bald.

Scalp micropigmentation gives the appearance of some hair and a hairline. It can also be used to make areas appear denser where the hair is thinning, camouflage transplant scars or provide a alternative solution for people who suffer from alopecia universalis.

What does it involve?
Scalp micropigmentation doesn’t penetrate the skin to the same depth as regular tattooing, unlike tattoo ink the ink used retains its colour and can be matched to suit your skin tone and existing hair colour.

Together with the practitioner you will agree to a suitable hairline before the procedure takes place. The procedure entails the practitioner adding hundreds of tiny dots creating the stubble effect and usually lasts around 3 hours (can need multiple appointments if the whole head is being treated).

Does it hurt?
Anaesthetics are available to numb the scalp, some men and women decide they are happy to continue without

How much does is cost?
Prices vary depending on the size of the area to be treated, but on average between £500-£3,000.
